We've tried to write this in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at privacy@getcorvar.com and we'll explain it.
1. Who we are
Corvar makes interactive, media-rich mountain maps for ski resorts. The Site is our marketing presence — it's where prospective customers learn about Corvar, get in touch, and schedule product demos.
The entity responsible for the personal information described in this policy is:

- Your name
- Business email address
- Company name and role
- Phone number (optional)
- The resort or organization you're affiliated with
- Anything else you write in a message or note to us
- Your availability and any preferences you share when scheduling a demo
If you email us directly or speak with us on a call, we keep a record of that correspondence so we can follow up.
Information collected automatically
When you visit getcorvar.com, we (and our service providers) automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Referring URL and the pages you view on our Site
- Date and time of your visit
- General location inferred from your IP address (typically city or region)
We collect this information through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. See the Cookies section below for details.
Information from third parties
If you've interacted with Corvar through a partner, event, or referral, we may receive your contact information from that source so we can follow up. We may also enrich the information you provide with publicly available business data (for example, company size or industry).
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and requests you submit through our forms
- Schedule, prepare for, and conduct product demos
- Communicate with you about Corvar — including follow-ups, product updates, and relevant marketing emails
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our products
- Understand how visitors use the Site so we can make it better
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security issues
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Legal bases (for EU/UK visitors)
If you're in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction that requires us to identify a legal basis under data protection law, we rely on:
- Your consent — for non-essential cookies and marketing communications where required
- Our legitimate interests — to operate the Site, respond to inquiries, communicate with prospective customers, and improve our products
- Performance of a contract or pre-contract steps — when you ask us for a demo or product information
- Legal obligations — when we're required to retain or disclose information
You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only with the following categories of recipients, and only for the purposes described in this policy:
Service providers. We use third-party services to operate the Site and run our business. The most important ones to know about:
- HubSpot — our customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing platform. Information you submit through our contact form is sent to HubSpot, where we store and manage prospect and customer communications. HubSpot also drops cookies on the Site to help us understand visitor activity. You can review HubSpot's privacy practices at hubspot.com/data-privacy.
- Cal.com — our demo scheduling platform. When you book a demo with us, the information you provide (such as your name, email, company, time zone, and any notes) is processed through Cal.com so we can confirm and manage the meeting. You can review Cal.com's privacy practices at cal.com/privacy.
- Website hosting, email, and analytics providers that help us deliver and operate the Site.
These providers process information on our behalf under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we direct.
Business transfers. If Corvar is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (for example, by email or a prominent notice on the Site) before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or government request; to enforce our terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Corvar, our users, or others.
With your direction or consent. We'll share information in other ways if you ask us to or agree to it.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to make the Site work, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and support our marketing.
Categories of cookies we use:
- Strictly necessary — required for core Site functions, like loading pages and submitting forms.
- Analytics and performance — help us understand which pages are visited and how visitors move through the Site, so we can improve it.
- Marketing and attribution — help us measure the effectiveness of our outreach and understand which channels bring prospects to Corvar. HubSpot's tracking cookie is in this category.
Your choices. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. You can also opt out of analytics cookies through the controls offered by individual providers. Blocking cookies may affect parts of the Site.
If you're in a jurisdiction that requires a cookie consent banner (such as the EU or UK), we present one on first visit and honor your choices.
6. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy — typically:
- Prospect and customer contact records: for the length of our relationship and for a reasonable period afterward in case you reach out again, unless you ask us to delete sooner.
- Demo scheduling records: generally retained alongside our prospect records.
- Website analytics and log data: retained on a rolling basis (commonly 14 to 26 months) and then aggregated or deleted.
- Records required by law: retained for the period required by applicable law (for example, tax or accounting rules).
When we no longer need information, we delete it or anonymize it.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. We honor the following rights for all visitors, regardless of location, where reasonably possible:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that's inaccurate or out of date
- Delete your personal information
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us directly
- Object to or restrict certain processing
To exercise a right, email privacy@getcorvar.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We'll respond within the time frame required by law (generally 30 to 45 days).
Additional rights for EU/UK residents (GDPR)
If you're in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you also have the right to:
- Receive a copy of your information in a portable format (data portability)
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
If you'd like us to transfer your personal information outside the EU or UK, we use safeguards required by law (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) when transferring data to providers in other countries, including the United States.
Additional rights for California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you're a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources, and the purposes
- Request deletion of personal information we've collected from you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — Corvar does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights
To exercise these rights, email privacy@getcorvar.com. You may also designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information protected and we partner with vendors (like HubSpot) that maintain strong security practices.
9. International visitors
Corvar is based in the United States. If you visit the Site from outside the U.S., the information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Privacy laws in the U.S. may differ from those in your country. By using the Site, you understand that your information will be processed in the U.S. Where required (for example, for EU/UK residents), we put in place appropriate transfer safeguards.
10. Children
Corvar's Site and products are not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email privacy@getcorvar.com and we'll delete it.
11. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites or services (for example, partner resorts or our social profiles). This policy doesn't cover those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third party before sharing information with them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we'll provide more prominent notice — for example, by email or a notice on the Site.
